In the late 1960s, Dr. Rosemond “Rosie” Romero moved to the Phoenix Valley from Louisiana after an Allergy-Immunology fellowship. Dr. Thomas Hartley, originally from Arkansas, served as an Army surgeon after medical school and practiced general medicine for 10 years before receiving his Allergy-Immunology specialization. In 1969, Dr. Hartley joined Dr. Romero to form Allergy and Immunology Associates, Ltd. Together, they united their specialized allergy training with Southern hospitality to create a one-of-a-kind patient-centered practice.
Drs. Romero and Hartley made such a positive impression on one young patient that he joined the practice in 1992. With the addition of Dr. Michael Manning, along with our nurse practitioner, Jean Nelson, the practice became Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Associates in 2005 to reflect an additional emphasis on asthma. Over the years, we’ve continued to implement the newest and best treatments, while always staying committed to our founders’ client-first approach to patient care.
